There are some obvious aphrodisiacs that can get a man in the mood, like wearing a body-hugging ensemble or watching an “interesting” flick together. However, there are some surprising things that guys find equally arousing, and these are the top 5 most unexpected turn-ons for men, according to experts.
1. Seeing you help other people
Lead study author Steven Arnocky of Nipissing University said in a statement that it appears that altruism evolved in our species because it serves as a signal of other underlying desirable qualities.
2. The smell of pumpkin pie
Believe it or not, Chicago’s Smell and Taste Research Center found that the scent of pumpkin pie, mixed with lavender, increased the men’s blood flow in the private area more than 23 other fragrances.
Why? Because the combination of smells might conjure up memories of a pleasure-filled meal, or it makes men feel extra-relaxed.
A study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology asked men to rate photos of women wearing different colored clothing.
According to the study, guys said that women who were wearing red were most attractive, even more than the exact same women wearing clothes in other colors.
4. Long, shapely arms
Researchers at the University of New South Wales in Sydney showed male volunteers videos of women. However, what was rather unusual was that men consistently rated women with long, strong arms among the most attractive.
The theory behind it is that long arms may make a woman look slimmer and indicate that she’s highly functional, or suggest that she gives great hugs.
5. A woman’s laugh
Maria Sophocles, an assistant professor at the University of Basel, Switzerland, says that men are subconsciously aroused by a woman’s laugh, possibly because the sound reminds them of sounds that women make in private.
