Ashton Kutcher’s attempts to eradicate child sex abuse has aided 6,000 victims, it has been revealed.

The actor was speaking at the Dreamforce software conference in San Francisco on Monday (6 November) where he discussed Thorn, his nonprofit project which aims to use technology to fight child sex abuse.

Inc reports that Kutcher explained how Thorn invests in research and tools that aid law enforcement as well as other nonprofit organisations to identify not only the victims but the abusers too.

Kutcher then reeled off the impressive statistics amassed by Thorn.

“We’ve identified 6,000 children that are being abused,” he told the crowd, adding: “We’ve identified 12,000 adults that are also being abused, and 6,000 abusers.”

The 39-year-old co-founded Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children with his ex-wife Demi Moore in 2009.

In February, the 39-year-old – who has two children with actress Mila Kunis – revealed the project had identified 2,000 child victims of trafficking in an emotional speech to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
