David Bechkam has been spotted kissing his 7-year-old daughter Harper on the lips at a World Cup match after he was slammed by trolls in the past for doing the same.
The 44-year-old former soccer player shared a photo with his youngest child as they watched his home country England take on Norway in the quarter-finals on Thursday, and they had a wonderful time cheering on the Lionesses to the 3-0 win at Stade Oceane in Le Havre.
The Beckham clan (including grandmother Sandra) looked to be in great spirits even before the game, as David shared multiple photos of them meeting the English female soccer team and their manager, Phil Neville.
David and Harper were seen taking part in a Mexican Wave during the match, and he has made it no secret of his hope that his only daughter will follow his footsteps and find the passion in football that his three sons are missing.
David’s closeness to his daughter has been slammed by trolls on the internet in the past too, and he was criticized for kissing her on the lips.
He was first trolled in November, when he was spotted kissing Harper during a day out ice-skating in London.
He then defended his behavior by insisting that he shows love to all of his children.
The former soccer player was spotted kissing his daughter on the lips once again during the game.
He said back in November that even though he gets criticized for kissing his daughter on the lips, he kisses all of his kids on the lips because he’s very affectionate with them, and it’s how he was brought up.
He noted that he and his wife Victoria Beckham want to show their kids love and protect them, and they’re very affectionate with them.
One of the most vocal critics of this act has been newsman Piers Morgan, who called it “weird”.
