Author & Artist: Ali Shahbazi

I am an architect and artist that relocated to the United States (Columbia MD ) last year from Iran. I used to teach architecture and design at Mashhad University and have developed buildings in Tehran and Dubai.

My passion for painting was sparked by witnessing horrific and tragic scenes in Iran due to the oppression of women, and thus, I focus my art on portraying women’s trials and triumphs. I highlight their pain, sorrow and helplessness, while spotlighting their quiet resilience. I believe my paintings are very relevant to current events around the world.

People tend to relate to my work and find it deeply touching and thought provoking. I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my collection in the United States where issues of women’s struggles are in the headlines every day .

Thank you for taking time to look at my work.  The link to my website and my contact informations are as follows: www.shahbaziart.com
