Kim Kardashian West’s Instagram Ad For An Appetite Suppressant Sparks Outrage

The 37-year-old has been accused of promoting eating disorders by sharing an ad for an ‘appetite suppressant lollipop’.

Altogether now – what the actual eff?!

Kim posted a picture of herself sucking on a red lollipop, while promoting Flat Tummy Co, a company which sells teas and shakes as meal replacements and ‘detoxes’. The mom-of-three wrote: ‘#ad You guys… @flattummyco just dropped a new product.

They’re Appetite Suppressant Lollipops and they’re literally unreal. They’re giving the first 500 people on their website 15% OFF so if you want to get your hands on some… you need to do it quick! #suckit.’

One person wrote: ‘I, like you, am the mother of two daughters and I think promoting a product like this is deeply irresponsible on your part Kim’, while another rightly proclaimed: ‘FOOD IS GOOD FOR YOU EVERYONE.’

One comment read: ‘Please tell me this is a joke and you wouldn’t actually promote an appetite suppressant with how much influence you have surely you would recommend a healthy lifestyle like @kourtneykardash and @khloekardashian with young people already under pressure to look a certain way this just promotes eating disorders?!’ And another read: ‘Endorsing eating disorders? Disgusting.’
