Kevin Howard is a heartbroken man who has successfully sued his cheating wife’s lover for $750,000.

Howard had been married to his wife for 12 years, when he discovered that she had been having an affair.
The North Carolina man went on to use an old law called “alienation of affection” and sued the man his now ex-wife had cheated on him with. The law allows a spouse to sue another person for “purposefully interfering with the marital relationship and ‘wooing’ their partner away”.

According to Kevin, he wanted to preserve the “sanctity of marriage” and that’s why he wanted to pursue his claim.

He described how his marriage of 12 years started to struggle, so he and his then-wife started attending marriage counseling.

According to Kevin, however, something “felt off”, so he decided to hire a private detective in order to determine if his wife was cheating on him. What he discovered was that she was having an affair with a colleague from work who had visited their home for dinner “several times”.
When describing the moment he learned of her infidelity, he said that “it was like someone calling you and telling you a family member had lost their life”.

He added that he filed the case because he feels it’s important for people to understand the sanctity of marriage and its importance.

If the ex-wife’s lover is unable to pay the amount immediately, it will go on his record as an unpaid debt.
