Muslim Girl Told Dad She Wants To Take Off Her Hijab, And His Response Is EVERYTHING

Muslim teen in Pennsylvania texted her dad, who lives in Saudi Arabia, to say that she wanted to take off her hijab.

This is Lamyaa, a 17-year-old Muslim high school student from Pennsylvania who wears a traditional hijab.

According to BuzzFeed, she was texting with a group of friends about President Donald Trump’s views on Islam. A screenshot from the chat shows that someone in the group told Lamyaa that she was forced to wear her hijab by her father.

“Stop defending Islam B**** shut up you couldn’t take that scarf off or your dad would beat your ass,” the message said. Instead of firing back at this comment, Lamyaa texted her dad.

“I want to take off my hijab,” Lamyaa wrote. (She later clarified on Twitter that she doesn’t have any intention to actually take it off, and that she was just testing the waters.)

“Sweetheart that’s not my decision to make. That’s no man’s decision to make,” her dad replied. “If it’s what you feel like you want to do, go ahead. I’ll support you no matter what.”
