Libido-Killing Drugs Might Be Offered To More Sex Offenders Soon

A LIBIDO-killing drug dubbed “chemical castration” could be offered to more convicted sex offenders in a bid to stop them carrying out further crimes.

At present, sex offenders are more likely to be offered psychiatric help in an effort to control their urges.

But more than a hundred are currently taking the libido-suppressing drugs at six prisons, which have to be taken continuously to have an effect.

And in the wake of the outcry over plans to release black cab rapist John Worboys a fact-finding exercise was undertaken looking at expanding it across the penal system.

However ministers have not made any decisions on extending the use of medication
