The first-ever size-14 model has been signed by Victoria’s Secret.
Ali Tate-Cutler is a model that will be featured in a collab ad campaign with lingerie brand Bluebella.
Some people, however, think that VS is just covering its tracks, as it wasn’t long ago that VS chief marketing officer Ed Razek was criticized for his insensitive remarks on the brand’s talent.
Razek infuriated the public when he made his comments for Vogue in which he said that he doesn’t think the VS show doesn’t need trans models because the show is “a man’s fantasy”.
Ali Tate-Cutler was amazed to work with the brand, and she told E! News that it feels amazing, and she feels like she’s on top of the world.
It felt surreal for her, and she never expected that she was going to see an image of herself on the wall of the VS store, next to the supermodels that she’s been looking up to since she was a little girl.
She also said that she doesn’t get hung up on the term “plus-size”, as she knows that she’s not the first plus-size model, but she’s the first size 12-14 model. She noted that size 14 is actually the average size of women in America, and she thinks that people need to see more of it in media and fashion because most women are that size.
