Thousands of pets in shelters are patiently waiting to be adopted and meet their new families.
However, while they wait for the home they deserve, they rely on shelter employees and volunteers to look after them and keep them company, and we believe it’s the most rewarding work an animal lover can do.
And out of all animal lovers in the world, one particular lady stands out from the crowd of thousands of kind-hearted helpers: the 89-year-old Maisie Green.
This U.K. lady has knitted more than 450 blankets to help dogs at the shelter called Dogs Trust in England stay warm.
You see, the shelter started an initiative asking people to knit dog coats a few years ago, and she found the idea of helping animals by knitting very appealing.
I mean, she is very good at knitting, and she loves it, so why not share that skill with the animals in need.
The 89-year-old lady said that she loves knitting and she loves dogs, so this combines both of them wonderfully. It takes her three days to knit a blanket and one day to knit a doggy coat, and she’s delighted to be helping the four-legged residents at the shelter.
We must admit that we absolutely love the coats and the blankets, and the photos are super cute!
Keep up the good work lady!
