Why Rihanna Rejected Super Bowl Halftime Invite

Rihanna has reportedly decided to turn down an offer to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in an act of solidarity towards NFL player Colin Kaepernick.

The football star has become a prominent figure in the United States in the past few years after kneeling during the national anthem in protest against police brutality towards black people in the country.

In a show of support for Kaepernick, the 30-year-old R ‘n’ B singer has decided against performing at Super Bowl LIII, according to a source close to US Weekly.

The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta.

They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.

Kaepernick, who began his protests in 2016, while playing for the San Francisco 49ers, is currently without a team but recently became the face of a major ad campaign for Nike.
