Catcalling is one of the worst things in the world – and it seriously needs to stop!

Rafi D’Angelo is a man from Harlem that recently shared how he reacted when he heard a woman getting catcalled 3 times in just 5 minutes while he was walking in the same direction as her.

D’Angelo shared the story on his ‘So Let’s Talk About’ page, and told Bored Panda that he thinks it’s very important to be aware of the situation and your surroundings when such things take place. He said that he got feedback from some women who were angry because he didn’t speak up and stop the catcalls while he was conducting his social experiment.

Although he believes it’s easy to tell your friends not to catcall women, he thinks there should be a different approach towards a grown men that are already showing the world that they don’t care what anyone thinks of them by the mere fact that they’re calling out a woman they don’t know.

The first thing is to trust your instincts, and respond to them because it may reduce the trauma. However, it’s also ok not to do anything, and it’s up to you to decide how to react and what to do in such a situation.
